Marie Skłodowska-Curie Postdoctoral Fellow May 2024 – Till date
Tampere University, Finland

• Secured a prestigious €225,000 Marie Skłodowska-Curie Fellowship to develop ionic-
liquid-based microfluidic scaffolds, establishing a new biomaterials research program at
Tampere and expanding the lab’s external funding portfolio.

• Spearheaded R&D of microfluidics-enabled tissue engineering materials – designing
novel polymeric scaffolds and prototype microfluidic devices – to advance regenerative
medicine applications and yield multiple manuscripts and conference abstracts (in
preparation).
• Led and mentored a team of 6 graduate and undergraduate researchers in experimental
design, microfabrication, and data analysis, improving project throughput and strengthening
the department’s training pipeline for next-generation biomaterials scientists.

Postdoctoral Researcher Jan 2022 – Feb 2024
Inha University, South Korea

• Engineered amphiphilic cationic poly (β-amino acid) carriers with optimized PEG chain
lengths for high-efficiency mRNA delivery, that enhanced the lab’s profile in nucleic-acid
therapeutics.
• Directed two polymer therapeutics projects (including an NRF-funded NK-cell
encapsulation study), coordinating cross-functional teams of biologists and engineers to
deliver functional drug-delivery systems. Project outcomes enabled follow-on grant
funding and new collaboration opportunities.
• Mentored 3 graduate researchers on pH-responsive polymer–lipid systems for mRNA
delivery and cancer immunotherapy, accelerating their thesis milestones and strengthening
the group’s talent pipeline.

Postdoctoral Researcher Jan 2021 – May 2021
Korea University, South Korea

• Developed an exosome-isolation technology (kit) for liquid-biopsy diagnostics, which
secured inclusion in an NRF-funded point-of-care diagnostics project and positioned the lab
for translational industry collaboration.
• Supervised an M.S. student in designing a microfluidic device for exosomal mRNA
extraction, guiding her through experiments and thesis completion while broadening the
lab’s expertise in nucleic-acid diagnostics.
• Presented results at two Nano-Biofluignostic Research Centre workshops, expanding the
lab’s network and showcasing Korea University’s advances in liquid-biopsy technology.
